Are you tired of the daily grind? The 9 to 5? Working for someone else and making them rich? Do you work long hours and barely even get a thankyou? Looking for an opportunity to create a lifestyle on your terms? For many people this search leads to them to Internet Marketing. The promise of making easy “passive income” or a dream lifestyle as a laptop millionaire. However this is not always the case and many are left disillusioned.

My review of the Wealthy Affiliate Program is taken from a personal experience perspective.

MY STORY

The majority of my working life has been spent in the corporate world. The last 15 years were in senior executive roles. Very demanding, long hours and very stressful. I am also a parent to 2 school age children. The demands on my time were extreme. The last 7 years of that ‘life’ were spent in an organisation with a culture of bullying and finger pointing. It got too much. I found myself suffering from ‘High Functioning Anxiety’. To the outside world I was happy, well adjusted, functioning and achieving. Internally I was a mess.

So I took a break. Risky. Leave a high level job with a large income. Getting back into the workforce at that level after a break can be extremely difficult. Coping without the salary – daunting and difficult. I spent the first few months trying to organise everything in my personal life. Things had gotten out of control due to the lack of time I had had to devote to everything. Thinking about what I was going to do for an income seemed like an impossible task.

I was introduced to Internet Marketing a number of years ago. However because of the demands on my time I never quite succeeded in the way that I was hoping to. And I always felt that something was missing. Now unemployed, I had the time. In my quest to get back into the swing of things I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliate. Broke, I decided to give a try – why? It’s free to sign up and do the initial training!
